Orange County, California just announced that no buildings or stores will be leased or rented to anyone selling dogs....!!! This really puts a dent in the supply from puppy mills. One step at a time.....

You let us know what we need to do in our own State to make this happen. Hugs! Cindy and Nash Nash was born 9/2/1998, and is my sweet 1/2 breed Cocker Spaniel/English Springer Spaniel. He was dx'd with diabetes in November 2007 and is currently on 9 units of Novelin N twice a day. Nash went blind approximately 6 mnths after dx, has glaucoma and gets eye drops 5x day

Posts: 975 08/20/11 02:04 PM	Thanks for the offer, Cindy. As long as I have agile fingers, things are going well. I probably send out close to 500 emails a month to state representatives, legislatures, and Senators and Congressmen. These have proved almost fruitless as they respond but I know I am not high on their list of "things to do". I am finding that the area of best response is to the local communities such as Orange County. As with many things. the more local the better. I copy and paste any articles such as the one mentioned and that appears the sure fire method. You ladies do your part (the hard part) while I just work on connections.

Just discovered this weekend that ANOTHER local shop is selling puppies. Supposed to be one of those cute pampered pet places selling clothes and specialty leashes etc......and the had a sign out front saying 'puppies for adoption'. Jody can tell you more.....but she is a broker. I couldnt stay in the store! I never knew brokers existed till about 6 months ago.
