Posts: 52 07/26/11 09:40 AM	Tags : None Hello everyone. Asking for your prayers. Ben, my non- diabetic Bichon, is going to the vet this afternoon. I found an egg sized lump under his right armpit. It is squishy and moves freely and doesn't seem to bother him at all. He feels fine and is his usual grub hound self. All good signs, but I know that a lump is a lump until... Please keep us in your prayers. Posts: 571 07/26/11 10:24 AM	Positive thought going out for Ben. Good luck little guy...Snoopy had one of those right in the center of his chest when we got him. It turned out to be a fatty tumor..Roscoe had one where Ben's is. We had it removed, it was a fatty tumor too.

Posts: 52 07/26/11 04:38 PM	Good news! It is just a limpoma! Dr did a needle aspiration and showed me the slides. Nothing but a greasy smear! WhoHoo! What a relief. Stopped and got pizza on the way home just so Ben could have his favorite thing in the world - pizza bones! Posts: 10009 07/26/11 07:23 PM Administrator	I'm just catching all this, I thought fatty tumor also, and YEP, that is what it is. A lot of dogs get them as they age. Nash had about 3-4, most fairly small. But nice to know it's nothing. I love the pizza bones! Very cute indeed! Cindy and Nash Nash was born 9/2/1998, and is my sweet 1/2 breed Cocker Spaniel/English Springer Spaniel. He was dx'd with diabetes in November 2007 and is currently on 9 units of Novelin N twice a day. The vet told my about a little corgi mix who had one removed which weighed as much as he did! The tumor weighed 26 pounds and the dog, after surgery, weighed 27 pounds! Amazing! And Ben is still laying on my kitchen floor guarding the last 2 pieces of pizza in the box, hoping to get more pizza bones! LOL! Moderator Posts: 1494 08/07/11 01:23 PM	I think Bichons must be prone to these. My vet has already removed 2 black "discs" for want of a better word, from his neck and head. Just slighly raised black fat pustules. Next one that he gets, we are going to try to see if it will go away on it's own. Glad that Ben is doing better - and enjoyed his pizza bones. We had a dachshund named Rusty when my son was small. He loved pizza crust so much that he got called Crusty as often as Rusty! Sissy, a 15 1/2 year old lhasa apso left for the Rainbow Bridge on February 28, 2009. She was diagnosed on September 21, 2007. You can run and your eyes are clear, my girl. On March 8, 2009, we adopted Fritz, a Bichon Frise puppy. He is a rescue dog with a beautiful spirit.
