We had to take her off the Novox since it was raising her liver counts. Vet said to try tramadol, which we had some already and it seems to be helping her, she still has some trouble getting up in Jim's chair. Jim is being real good about the ball playing so she doesn't run too much. But she saw the cat from next door and took off like nothing to chase him out of the yard.
Of course with not as much exercise, she is becoming a chunkie monkie. So here I go again - Got CeeCee looking great and now the other gal needs to diet. Since the green bean trick worked for CeeCee and knowing how much Prissy would carry on about not eating them, I began the "lets trick Prissy" ...first day took some green beans and smushed them up really well, mixed in with her canned allergy food along with the pills she tends to find and added in the dry...spit out a pill but ate most of the food.
cool, did this for a couple of days and then graduated up to chopped greens beans cut into small pieces. added canned for the pills and to coat the green beans plus her normal dry...success, no spit out pills and only left a couple pieces of green beans, which of course were gobbled up by my other chow hound.
This morning SUCCESS! ....tried beans normal size, mixed only with the dry allergy food and only a teaspoon of canned to hide pills. That prissy ole girl ate them up and when I had the container to put back in fridge she sat up begging so I thought why not, she ate them without anything. And I have discovered she loves apples
So I guess when I finally get her weight back into control (vet wants 5 pounds off) I'll have to work on the fat cat, Harley ROFLMAO..
