I know it has been a long time since I last posted an update on Shasta. She has been doing really good, overall good numbers, bumped up both her food and insulin.. but for the most part she has been living a normal and active life.
Last week she had an episode where she threw up several times - was lethargic and didn't want to come inside (who blames her she was ill) She seemed to recover somewhat by eating and drinking normally but just acted tired. Starting last night she quit eating all together. I took her to the vet this morning, had blood drawn, and Shasta was tentatively diagnosed with Hepatitis. They hooked her immediately to an IV drip and is scheduled for an ultrasound soon.
Is there any relation to diabetes and Hepatitis? Is this a common problem with dogs who have diabetes? Anyone else dealing with this? These are all questions I will ask my vet but I am also seeking group knowledge.
