I'll ask about that Cindy, could be old age, she does have the small hips that cockers can have so they said never to mate her since she would have problems giving birth. Poor baby is allergic to so many meats, seafoods, grains, grasses, trees pollens and these only started about 3 years ago so no fish oils. maybe we need to put her in a glass cage lol....no cataracts have been spotted yet, but she did mention the eyes didn't seem clear.

She can't under stand why Jim would not play ball last night, she would bring it, place it at his feet, whine, then would bring to me lol....

LOL, she might be getting old and gray in the face but quiet she is not. ball idea is interesting lol, but she's allergic to everything you can think of. Jim said guess he just has to accept the fact she is getting old and she will have aches and pains. Our neighbor said he had a board we could use to make her a ramp for the deck stairs which was nice but she is ok doing that...as Megan said at this moment it is a unstability issue and she can't push off on it.

We had Prissy again at the vets, Dr Megan said to take her to see Dr Kelly at the other vet site (tall and my kind of cute, but too young for me rofl) He was waiting outside so he could watch her get out of car, and try to get up the curve, which is not a high one. They kept her to do xrays because he wanted to rule out back and hips since she has the small hip issue cockers have. Hips and back are beautiful, but said cocker can also have the floating knee caps which naturally she officially has. The knee cap is not moving up and down as normal but sideways causing wear on the bones and the pain, etc. She is such a good girl, she let him stretch her out, twist poke etc and not one whimper, growl or anything. Even he was impressed with how she behaved and gave her hugs and kisses lol....

He gave me rimadryl and an antibiotic since the allergies have kick in more so and some areas are little red, and she is running a small fever. Told me to order for long term from Smith & Fosters (he'll fax a script) Novox which is the same pretty much with the rimadryl and so much cheaper. Plus we need to begin lightly exercising her and get at least 5 pounds off her since it will help the knees. He is against surgery at this time or even so much in the future because of her age (she'll be 10 years in June) and her other issues. Plus at this time we could not afford that

He also checked her eyes and said no signs of cateracts which is good tho they do seem a little 'dull' not as bright and shiny, but sometimes older dogs do develop vision issues same as 'older people'

So here I am hiding pills in her food, watching how carefully she can get the food off the pill (antibiotic is a capsule) and spit it out on the floor, so next time remove powder out of capsule mix well in her moist dog food lol


Now an update on the other weight challenged young lady - 14.5 lbs !!! she has lost a total of 6.5 lbs and doing very well, frisky, no reverse sneezes, no out of breaths and her knees are doing well lol.
