This is Skye's Diabeties related, but I need to get this out.
I will preface this by saying that I have a wonderful husband who is completely supportive, adores his dog and would do anything for her.....he is also much more laid back then I am.....
Every summer a few couple friends and all the kids and us go camping together. We dont bring the dogs with us because some of them dont get along...and it makes for a very frustrating trip breaking up dog fights all the time. So we decided mutually that it would be dog free camping. Great no problem.
This year of course we have Skye's diabeties to think about. I am (for the most part) okay with not bringing her and having my husbands mom take care of her. She normally does anyway, and is a diabetic so she gets the stuff we have to do for her.
However...this year the weekend we are going camping my sister in law is due with her first, and my mother in law is going to be attending the birth. The plan was that IF she went into labour my mother in alw would call us and I would go back home to get Skye (campground is only 1.5/2hrs away), or just give her her insulin for that time my mother in law would be gone. Part of me being okay with leaving her was because we were suppose to be closer to home.
Now they are talking about going to camp at a place 3hrs away. While the site sounds amazing...I am just not comfortable in leaving Skye in case mother in law has to leave. My (31) brother in law will be there still, but I dont really trust him to take care of Skye.......he sleeps until 4pm everyday.....
My husband thinks I am worrying to much, that it wont be a big deal ect ect ect.
I am so frustrated because I dont think I am worrying to much. This is all way to new to me to trust someone else to take care of her. And it is a HUGE responsibility to ask of someone. The fact that I am trusting my mother in law is huge.
SIGH! I just needed to get that out. To people who understand.....
