When with broken hearts and trembling lips we to YOUR loving arms do send Those special souls YOU loaned to us whose time on Earth must come to an end. In YOUR infinite wisdom YOU sent other angels to help keep them safe. So I ask you dear LORD to watch over them, those angels of mercy you sent to this place What name YOU call them I do not know yet, Down here we call them simply.... the Vet.

Posts: 571 09/15/10 01:19 PM	Thanks, I'm glad you like it, it is my very favorite..I didn't write it, the author was "Unknown" but I'm sure it was a person just like us, a true animal lover... I printed it once and framed it for our Vet.. She is truly an angel. She cries every time she loses an animal. Snoopy was her favorite patient, she took it almost as bad as we did when we lost him.

Posts: 57 10/02/10 12:17 PM	not2foxie, That is a very touching poem. It actually gets me quite teary eyed - even when I read it a couple of times. When we as vets get less respect/money/recognition, it is sometimes nice to remember that there are those out there that appreciate it all and most importantly remember why we decided to choose this career. Pets can touch us so deeply. I lost my dog a year and almost a month ago. I still have dreams with her in it about twice a week. Pets truly enrich our lives. It is a beautiful poem and thank you for posting it.

I lost Sunny in 2004 and I still think about him every day. I love all animals and all other living creatures, and I thank God that we have people "Angels of Mercy" to take care of them when we don't know what to do.
