If anyone is interested, I have an Amazon Store on my website where it has "approved products" like Ocluvet. The prices are the same as the Amazon prices (and is purchased directly from Amazon) but it does help my site out too. ;)
Thank You

This page is dedicated to some new products that are
available on the market as well as some older medications. I try to pick
some of the medications that I find to not only be a positive
contribution to the veterinary world but those that are sometimes
underutilized. While there is no perfect medication, there are some
great ones; and some of these could be helping out more pets. Most of
the common medications, such as antibiotics are not covered. This will
be focused on medications that you might chose rather than just be
prescribed. This is a new page so will be having many additions soon, I
hope. |
| Below is a
small summary of some products that are either new or sometimes
overlooked that I feel are worth mentioning. To the right is a small Amazon Store that includes products that I recommend. It can be hard to know which products to purchase and hopefully you will find this list helpful. If you chose to purchase a product, the transaction is done directly through Amazon like any other of their purchases with the exact same great prices. Hope it helps! |

| Epakitin Epakitin contains the active nutraceudical chilosan which is derived from the shells of crab and shrimp. Chilosan has the ability to bind phosphorus within the intestines and help prevent its absorption. In patients suffering from kidney disease, absorbed phosphorus will lead not only to the further degradation of the kidneys but also is a major contributor for the development of hyperparathyroidism. Hyperparathyroidism is common secondary disorder to kidney disease. Epakitin has been shown in studies to not only reduce blood phosphorus levels but also parathyroid hormone levels. Studies have also shown no increase in either ionized or total calcium levels with its use. Use: Kidney disease Pros: Safe, palatable and easy to administer, nutraceudical Cons: Must be given with food. Currently only one distributor. |
