Hello everyone! We have a new lady on the other board that has a newly diagnosed cocker spaniel. she needs a meter. One that would be easy with cheaper strips. She has lost her job and they are having a hard time. Can not afford vet curves etc. CVS charged her $90.00 for Humulin NPH! Poor lady. She is trying to get help to help her dog. I really like my freestyle lite. Small dont have to code, requires such small amts of blood. Please l;et me know or email me at kb1127@bellsouth.net. Thank you friends!!!! PS. I imagine she could use anything like syringes etc to help her out right now.

Hi Kay - what about Kimber's Mom? She mentioned in her thread on CDMB that she had supplies and I believe a couple of meters. Did you see that. I forget where Dory lives though. I am hoping she is not overseas.....hm!

Kay, just for information purposes, the Relion from Walmart is less than $10, and the strips are about the cheapest out there besides ebay.

Is this someone who is new on CSG? How did she get Humulin for $9? Wow! Walmart has the cheapest syringes, at less that $15 for 100.

Tell her I have Nash who is 1/2 Cocker.......

Outrageous price!

Has no one told her about Novelin N ReliOn?
Also I find the reliOn meter to be very inaccurate..... On Ebay you can get one touch strips for $20.00 for a box of 50..
You need to check the dates but some boxes were good for another year !!

Oh my, I really am tired, how did I read that at $9! NINETY, what the heck? That is highway robbery. NO ONE charges that much. I'd be calling headquarters.

Where is this lady? Has she signed in or posted here? Somehow I've missed her.....

Kay, no insult, please don't take it as that. And I dont have any bad feelings over the other board. But, I will be honest with you. I left and not ONE person every contacted me.

Seriously......no one, I was gone for months, and no one ever said, heh, how are you. I had posted about my niece, and no one followed up. Of course everyone wants to help someone, and thank you Jody for sending a meter. I am not in a position to do that. And no, it doesn't matter which board she is from.

So, I guess I need to apologize. Sorry if I sounded snotty it wasn't meant that way. But, you do need to talk to Johanna about why she started CSG.

A diabetic dog no matter where it is needs help !!! And anyone that can help anyone that needs it should....

There is no animosity on this board for that board at all... as a matter of fact some of the members here are still members there...
And some of my mods and one administrator here at CSG are also mods there....
There has never been a issue over that on our part....

I feel all board's should work together, after all were all trying to do the same thing....
I often recommend members to go see Natale at K9 diabetes...
I happen to have a high respect for her board...

So this should tell you that if there is any issues with the board you are also on ,there might be a reason that has nothing to do with helping dogs with diabetes. but maybe something more personal.
That should never interfere with helping a diabetic dog and owner no matter what message board they are on. !!!!

As you saw we all volunteered help of some sort with this person for a meter.
And I do apologize if what was said by Cindy was a bit out of line.. but everyone has there own opinions...and she also is entitled to hers.

Kay you have my email address... If in any way you are still feeling put out by anything in this thread please email me and we will straiten it out...

No NO No I am not upset. Cindy I guess I read your statement and it looked like some sort of "bad feeling" to me and like you were resentful I asked help from another board. . I am sorry if I took it wrong. Yes I think we should all help each other. Lord knows what I would have done without some of you in 2004. Bo probably would not lived as long. Cindy too I am sorry if no one contacted you. I am probably guilty but to be honest unless I talk to someone a lot on these boards I cant keep up with which dog is which without going back and reveiwing the thread. I am so sorry if I neglected you as I know sometimes we all need a shoulder. I do remember something about your niece being sick and I would love you to refresh my memory on that. I just try to stay on that board to help new ones and the older ones that come. BUT I also come here and there have been times I email Natalie too. Natalie is so knowlegable with complex insulin problems.

thank you Johanna. All is OK. I am not upset at all just was somewhat confused. I am OK now. All I know if soemthing "personal" happened it did not involve me at all beacause I know nothing of it. And many of the people that used to be there are gone so don't know if it pertained to one of them. I am just happy to try to help others as I know how stressful it can get. Cindy I dont know if you were there in 2006 when Bo got Inflam. Bowel Disease. It was a nightmare and these people here and on helped me so much. So please forgive me if sometimes I dont respond to something. If I am not having daily contact ot a lot of contact honestly I just forget! LOL! Maybe I need the anapril Jerri was talking about. Oh gosh, I hope it's a group hug.

Thank you Kay! We even contact Natalie too. When a dog is sick, the human needs all the help they can get. Times are tough, and we all are experiencing a lot of rough times. Nash developed diabetes in late 2007, so I wasn't there in 2006.

Johanna is a gracious and giving Board Owner......she ALWAYS wants what is best for the dog..............and sometimes we put our foot in our mouth, and she helps us take it out.

Thank you for accepting the apology ! Need to sign off, we're getting bad storms, and I don't want to blow out my computer.

Yes Johanna thanks for the link. What a amazing story. I so hope and pray that Madison will continue to do so well. she is a beautiful little girl. And I just love Jewel. Absolutely gorgeous. You and your family really had a hard way to go. Thank the lord she is so much better now. I will keep you and family and esp. Madison in my prayers. No little child should have to go through that but then I always say we can not understand or comprehend all that happens in this world. Kay
