Posts: 10004 06/01/10 05:04 PM Administrator	So, everything is fairly quiet. Nash is causing me a bit of gray hair, having some weird bg's. But, we're working through it, and he's such a trooper. We have his 3 month pressure eye test about mid-June, but he is still a chipper boy, and I'm grateful! Claire is in that 'chew everything' stage, as she just turned 4 months old on May 30th. She is still small, and though we haven't been to the Vet's in 2 weeks, I would say she hasn't topped 6 pounds yet. We're training, and she has learned to sit, stay, shake her paws, lay down and wait for her food. Little by little. How is your June? Cindy and Nash Nash was born 9/2/1998, and is my sweet 1/2 breed Cocker Spaniel/English Springer Spaniel. He was dx'd with diabetes in November 2007 and is currently on 9 units of Novelin N twice a day. Nash went blind approximately 6 mnths after dx, has glaucoma and gets eye drops 5x day

Moderator Posts: 1494 06/01/10 08:22 PM	June - wow! Where has the time gone? Fritz is slowly becoming the wonderful little guy I knew he would be. He still has some devil in him (wouldn't want it any other way), but he no longer destroys everything in sight and he is much easier to have around. We are doing a lot of camping and Fritz is a really good camper. Our lawn mower broke last week, so the yard looks like Farmer Brown's hayfield. Should get it back sometime this week. Our 10 year old gas grill started shooting fire out of the bottom, so I deep sixed it and bought a new one today. And Sears is putting it together for no charge! Whoopee! I still have to get most of the beds weeded, edged and mulched but I have a good start. The garden is in and growing. We had 2 inches of rain last night, so that should help a lot. We are still cleaning and going through stuff at my MIL's house. Slowly by surely, we are making progress. I'm afraid we are throwing away something of value, but how do you know? And of course, somewhere in the middle of this, I have to WORK! Sissy, a 15 1/2 year old lhasa apso left for the Rainbow Bridge on February 28, 2009. She was diagnosed on September 21, 2007. You can run and your eyes are clear, my girl. On March 8, 2009, we adopted Fritz, a Bichon Frise puppy. He is a rescue dog with a beautiful spirit.

Leo will be 14 wks on fri, he weighs 6 ib 12 oz He is also going through the 'chew everything' stage, he especially likes destroying my 2 yr olds dummies, she needs to kick the habit anyway! Potty training not going very well, he does it straight away when i put him out but still has lots of accidents inside, i just clear it up without a word & give lots of praise when he goes outside. I have done a bit of training with Leo but so far he will only do ''sit' and 'lay down', he is totally ruled by his stomach tho which is great for training! His mange is now all gone, only took 2 dips and 2 spot on treatments to get rid of it. He has a bald patch on his ear but hoping that will grow back soon, and he still does a little excitement wee at the feet of visitors!!

Posts: 975 06/02/10 01:57 PM	The coming of summer is especially hard for those of us forced to live by the beach. Young ladies and teenyboppers play volleyball by the roadside and this does create hazards for the driving public. Some idiots drive by at two miles per hour while not one eye is on the road. Therefore, I am forced to drive by at the same speed. Of course, I am forced to look and see what they are qawking at also..... It is going to be a long summer.

Moderator Posts: 3050 06/02/10 07:52 PM	Good evening all, Prissy has been changed completely now to the no grain food, her skin is getting better, few spots but not as she use to get, no red ugly spots, just the crusty small areas. She still balks at eating the food lol, after all she had 9 years with the same food, now we change her. CeeCee of course gulps down and then asks what is it. Harley is still Harley... Already work has begun with a bang, I think today I took a step forward and then 3 backwards. Jim is still his same ole self.

Administrator Moderator Posts: 3887 06/02/10 09:34 PM	June already this year if flying by me. You want an update on me or the dogs? The dogs live a much more interesting life then me. Brandys fur and skin are starting to get better the shin is starting to come back. This is her favorite time of the year the fish ponds are now open. So she spend a lot of the day watching her fish. Ruby is getting so big two weeks ago she was 8 1/2 pounds now she is 13 1/2 pounds she gained 5 pounds in two weeks. She can sit give paw now and almost potty trained. She is just a bundle of energy I have a hard time keeping up with her. Puppy classes start next week I hope this make her tired. I have all my planting done don't know how I did it with Brandy and Ruby help. The weather has been very warm this spring. I am sure you are all wanting to see more picture of Brandy and Ruby. I can't help my self I just have to give up to your request. LOL I took these last Monday Memorial day. Brandy and Ruby enjoying the bride over one of the ponds together. It will not be much longer that she will run under Brandy. Ruby resting on the bridge learning how to give the dobie smile. She hasn't learned how to show her teeth yet. Well, you know what I mean. Dawn, Ruby is absolutely gorgeous! I can't believe she is looking like a dog rather than a puppy! I miss the puppy budge. Has it only been a little over 2 weeks? So, she is what, almost, or right at 10 weeks now? Claire will be 17 weeks on Sunday, and I'd be surprised if she is 6 lbs. We'll probably be at the Vets this week.....so we'll know then. Cindy, the only brand of grain free I found locally in our area is the Wellness brand. I am sticking to the turkey and chicken canned flavors/dry...tried a salmon and both girls turned their noses up at that, and if CeeCee refuses food that must be bad lol. Well the week from H....at work is over, hopefully there won't be another...we had thunderstorms this morning, and poor Harley was hiding under my recliner this morning, how he got there is amazing since the chair was shut up. could not convince him to come out for the longest time. Both girls could care less but no way were they going outside in it. well off to pay bills, get grocery list and off to the store.

Dawn, Ruby is the prettiest Dobie I've ever seen-also the biggest little puppy ever! She's going to make Brandy look like the puppy! And Davis!!!!!!!!! Now you must learn to behave yourself! Don't think for a moment that those bikini clad girls don't know the riot they create bouncing around with those balls! Looking is free though, so enjoy it. June again and the weather is just now beginning to get "beachy" and I can't wait for my lunch date with Davis on the 15th!!! I imagine I'll have the best time with our very funny friend and am really looking forward to that day! Lucy has been doing as well as can be expected. She enjoys her naps in the sun and walking the yard looking for things only she knows about. I think her senility plays a big part in her wandering around looking busy when actually she is going in circles aimlessly. She may be about 80% deaf now which makes finding what she's looking for more difficult. My clicking for her is useless now but she does respond to a shrill whistle now and again though. I made one attempt last month to switch her canned W/d for a less expensive and nutritious doggy health food, but as I couldn't stand the smell of it, decided to abandon that idea. I never thought W/d would be more appealing, but it is. Her feet still give her trouble once in a while but I think we have that mostly under control now. My poor goose is sooooo slow anymore- but at 14, our beloved Dr. Rick thinks she looks amazing and all systems are a go, so we have much to be happy about. We had our first camping trip of the season a couple weeks ago, a trial run for the goose, and she had a fine time and refused to stay under the seat on the boat, insisting on standing on the bow with eyes squinted shut and ears blowing every which way. She sure loves the water! Still! She's a good girl, the best girl! and my Lucy, American Pugsley, age 15 -born 4/18/1996, DX. diabetic Nov. 07, blind 2/08, Weight 11 lbs., Humulin N 7 U , Homecooked chicken/white rice with canned Hills W/D My sweet, baby Lucy left me peacefully on October, 24, 2011 with her head on my shoulder and my comforting whispers in her poor little, deaf ear. I know she was met faithfully at the bridge by all her friends that went before her. Rest in peace, my baby. Lucy, 4/18/96-10/24/11
