A year ago today, Bella was diagnosed with diabetes. She had previouly been confirmed with chronic active hepatitis (CAH), and now has ketoacidosis. A yr ago
tonight, I was sleeping the first night of many with her in the living room, c/w IV drip. It was so cold last yr, and she wanted to go out and pee every hr,
and the stupid IV pump woud quit working and start beeping. I hung the thing around my neck, and wore hubby's long
coat over it, but it still beeped every trip outside. Funny the things that stick in your mind.
It has been a journey, aided along the way by friends online just like you. And through it all, Bella has kept her own very unique individual personality.
She has just jumped on my laptop trying to tell me it is bedtime, and even more important....SNACK TIME. She can tell time better than I can, and she is blind. She has owned me for 18 months now since I picked her up at the rescue, having been dumped by her owner of 10 yrs. because she went blind. She has taught me some invaluable life lessons, and somewhere in all that, we came to love each other as if we had been together all our lives.
This is Bella in our back yard, enjoying the great outdoors, but mainly waiting to go back in and EAT.
