Okay, just to refresh. You all know Nash is diabetic. And ever since his diabetes two years ago, he has been prone to ear infections.
The nasty one we had this summer was beyond control. It had progressed into an inner ear infection, and it had to be treated with intense antibiotics and pain meds for 8 weeks (which btw, his teeth being bad may have contributed to the infection, and he had the dental first, then the treatment for the ear infection). Anyway.......after I got it cleared up, several here had suggested Zymox Otic from Entirely Pets (website). So, I continued that for about another 3-4 weeks. Then went off it for a couple weeks, then back on again for a week or two.
Well, recently we've seen him itching his right ear alot again. So, I started him, every other day.
I really am thinking he will always have the chronic ear infections due to his beautiful long ears, and his DIABETES!!! So......what do you all think about me using the Zymox for like one week on, two weeks off, two weeks on, one week off, probably forever?
I need to order more, and it's pretty reasonable (compared to Momentamax at something like $54, which really didn't help more then the Zymox), and of course, the other, which is a bad infection again, and antibiotics.
So, do you think it's a good plan? I just don't want to be where I was this summer. EVER again!!!
