We decided to keep the name Sophie and not Sophia. Sophie is the name she had a birth. Anyway just got back from the vet. Sophie weighed in at 38 #. They did
an urinalysis and a urine culture. Also I am deworming her tomorrow as a precautionary. The culture will be in tomorrow morning. Also she had a pedicure. SO
$85 and we are out the door. I think that is pretty reasonable. Better safe than sorry. Poor Sophie was so scared to be in the car She was shaking. These
SOB's that owned her I would like to choke them. But as you know they are one of my high dollar clients soI will shut up. I have her . That is all that
matters. I will try to take a pic tomorrow.

I hope it's just a garden-variety UTI, Marianne, and not something more difficult. She's so young. It's so sad that she's having problems
already. But maybe the urinalysis will show nothing in particular. Maybe the peeing and bad poops are a result of stress. Maybe-maybe-maybe! But you won't
know until you get the results. Please let us know as soon as you can!
Jac, Ella (golden retriever, not diabetic), Abbey (golden retriever/Irish setter, not diabetic) beautiful Angel Jenny (golden
retriever), and cats Mona and Ernie.
Jenny passed away February 15, 2008 at almost 14 years old. Weight: 65 pounds. Diabetes, myasthenia gravis, hypothyroid. Started on Caninsulin (Vetsulin) for 3 months then switched to NPH - 13 units twice daily. . |

What happened yesterday Marianne at the Vets? I'm wondering if this is why this dog has been tethered outside? The owners didn't admit anything huh? I am so hoping there is nothing wrong with her internally. You may have to take away her water after a certain time in the evening maybe, just like you do with a child you are trying to potty train. I know that will be difficult with the rest of the crew. Last night on Caesor Milan - there was a family with 3 GSP. Whew.....he took the three of them on one of his roller blade runs. I thought of you. Maybe you will have to put roller blades on your X-mas wish list! Looks like these dogs have alot of energy and definetely need a job. Daddy should of done his homework when it came to picking out a dog for his grandkids. It's no wonder she is running non-stop - these dogs need alot of exercise and she hasn't been getting it. Poor thing.

Sorry ya'll/ I have been researching supplements for my other dogs and cats.
Sophies urinalysis came out great. No diabetes. That was my fear. I think they didn't have enough time to actually say whether the culture had growth. Doc had done surgeries till after midnight. They asked that I call back Monday to see fi she does in fact have a UTI. My concern was the weekend so Dr Meyer prescribed an antibiotic called Primor and 2 days work of Centrine( to control her diahrea) This may all be stress related. I have never had anew dog have all of these problems. BUt I have never had one that was this abused. Sophia is happy as pig in crap!!!! She has gotten all of the toys out of the toybox!! THey are strewn all over the livingroom. We had to cover our couches with sheets as she thinks that the couch is her bed. And Gene is allowing her to do this. Harley and Sebastian also get on the couch. It is raing her. Dang. Now I have 24 paws to wipe off before they come back from their pee!!! That is 6 dogs X 4. I am crazy!!!!! That is to have this many animals.

Yes, I know - you do have your work cut out for you! I think now would be a good time to send Fritz for a visit - NOT! Most abused/neglected dogs come with
their own set of baggage. Frankly, I'm beginning to think that some of these behaviors will never change. BTW - what is a pig in carp? Is that something
Texas pigs do?

Poor baby, good thing she has you to love her. I don't know why people have pets if they can't treat them right, and tieing up outside is not right.
When I first met Jim, he came from a family that never had pets inside, they always stayed out...well did he get a shock when he met me and my family
ROFL...now as you can see from "the pet's preferred bed picture" he has become a changed man...spoils them worse than I do.

We have always kept out pets inside. Some feel that a dog is a dog. Meaning they are supposed to stay outside. Thanks god my husband is an animal lover.
Because if he wasn't I would of divorced him 29 years ago.
A pig in carp was meant to be crap Jerri!!!! You poop head!!!!( LOL) I say send Fritz to me. All of that training you paid for will be gone "in a NY minute". Sophie and Sebastian will teach him well. I got up this morning at my usual 5:30 am. I swear Sophie was friggin on speed. She would not slow down. Chasing the cats, chasing the dogs, jumping on the couch and almost sending my java flying. Gene said she didn't slow down till 9 am. I swear I am keeping her outside for a 1/2 hour so that I can have my coffee. Got the results from the urine culture. It didn't grow anything. They said that sometimes a dog could have one but bacause of a little more dilute urine nothing would grow. As long as Sophie is tolerating the antibiotic he wants me to continue the course of it. |

maybe she and my devil child, Harley are on the same stuff LOL...she just has so much pent up energy , you'll need to figure out how to channel it...do you
walk her?
Do you have dog parks near you? That would be a great place to take her, they are fenced in and the "big doggy" side is large..we take ours, tho they behave so demurely when in the small doggie side. But there is much fun on the other side..We watched two greyhounds go zipping thru with the other dogs far behind lol... (and my hubby once said i would probaby throw him out first over a pet ROFL) but he is a changed man...guess you can teach an old dog new tricks lol |

Yeah we have dog parks. They are not fenced in though. Until I get this dog to Come she isn't going anywhere. She is getting the command " go Pee
Pee". I have to give her a treat. She waits for one. These dogs are extremely bright.
She has been running around all day. I get nervous though when Harley and Sebastian both play with her. They are so rough. And Sophie ends up slapping her head on the patio doors. |

OK - if she moves too fast to get a picture, have the vet take one while she is under the anesthesia!

Hey - maybe she can come in the bathroom with you! Yeah, just shut the door and you should be able to get all the pictures you want. Seriously, I forgot that
tomorrow is "the day." I have gone through this - tonight is the worst part. You will also weigh about 5 pounds less tomorrow!
