I am Cindy S and I live in Alabama, but have lived in several different states in the southeast and did live in Kansas for 8 years. I was born and raised in Georgia, so I don't really consider myself to be a true Alabama person!
Sorry to say this, but if you live anywhere near the south, then you'll know where I'm coming from here.
I love animals of all kinds. I even love cows and think they are pretty.
I have 4 little dogkids. 2 shih tzus, one toy poodle, and one t-cup poodle. My little dogs are pretty much healthy, but I have had issues with one of my little shih tzus and my t-cup. We have had midnight trips to the animal clinic and we have sat up all night long to tend to them. My little shih tzu is epileptic and my little t-cup poodle has a tendency to run on low blood sugar.
Princess, my little shih tzu has led a normal life and has been on phenobarbitol since she was 3 months old. She has pretty much led a stable life other than a seizure here and there and they can be really scary. With love and care, these little babies can live a happy life. It just takes a little extra effort to make it happen.
Here is a picture of her at her looking her best!
She has always had the wandering eyes!
I think that is typical
among this breed.
Here is little Rudy my t-cup. He is small, but let me tell you this, he has a LOUD BARK and is it ever ear piercing! He doesn't show up well on pics, but you get the jest here.
This is Cody, my toy poodle (on the left)....Nothing is wrong with him other than being a spoiled little brat! The little black blob there is Rudy! LOL
This is Cody and Maxine. Maxine is my other little shih tzu and she was born with only half of a functioning heart. She tires easily and has to be carried a great deal while we're out in the yard, but other than that, she is the perfect companion. She is 15 years old and has been on expensive meds. One was Enecard (sp), but it was doing no good for her and the vet took her off 10 years ago. She is still doing fine.
OK, so you now know that I could write a novel on my dogkids!
What
can I say? I love them very much. Three of my four have health issues, but it is something that if watched, they can live a productive life and they are
such a joy to have as a part of my family.
I am looking forward to meeting you and I do love talking about our pets and love to hear stories of other pets. I have also been a proud cat owner as well as parakeets and cockatiels. The cats got along fine with the birds.
