Re: PLEASE HELP ASAP!!! (reply) Karen, you make me laugh! Taffy had one elbow callous and I was forever grateful for that sucker! She never once flinched either. I would just massage the elbow, pinch it, then poke and squeeze. Walla, nice drop of blood. I don't know what I would of done ... |

Re: PLEASE HELP ASAP!!! (reply) Good news about your Maggie, Karen! She is feeling better because of the diet and insulin together! My vet always told me to feed first, then give her shot, followed by a veggie treat for being a good girl. Other vets say to wait 1/2 hour before the ... |

Re: PLEASE HELP ASAP!!! (reply) Just continue to monitor Maggie throughout the day. When my dog was first dx., I was NOT testing at home yet, so hadn't a clue about where she was blood sugar wise. Took her into the vet one day for a mid-day check and she was 34 on their meter. Taffy ... |

Re: PLEASE HELP ASAP!!! (reply) I would go ahead and give her the 20 units. Like Jo said, the meters are geared to read lower, as a safety factor. I really have no clue if the 3 cups at each feeding are enough...? I guess you will tell if her numbers stay lower, and she is ... |

Re: PLEASE HELP ASAP!!! (reply) Are they once a day vitamins? Is so, then pick the best time for you. If she can have them twice a day, then go for it. She is underweight right now, so it seems like they would help build her back up. With sugar listed so far down the list, I don't ... |

Re: Need meter recommendiation (reply) I used a human meter, freestyle flash. It was on sale at Walgreens with a full rebate, and I always got my strips on ebay for a good price. No meter is perfect, but as long as it gives you a decent reading...then I would just continue using your bayer ... |
