Thanks for the thoughts. I actually gave Nash a break last week. No meds, no drops. But, this week I'm doing drops again. I just want to see.
Can't hurt right?

But, I think his hearing is gone. The Vet said Cocker's lose their hearing alot. He's 1/2 Cocker. But, I'm just happy to see him bounding around
the house.

That infecction sure whipped his butt, and he was in so much pain. Hubby had convinced himself it was something bad. So glad it wasn't worse, and I had a
gut feeling it was inner ears. Just glad it worked!!

I am so happy to hear it worked for Nash.. I am telling you it was a lifesaver for my dog..they wanted to do an ear ablation (remove the drums) and i am so
glad I found it (though the vet never recommended it to me)
The dreaded lows I remember that .. so well..
well you showed hubby and now he knows ;-)

Give the zymox time if there is any swelling in the ear you will be amazed i used it 2x a day for Angel for 3wks then once a day for a week ..And her hearing
did come back..but it was an infection deep inside.

Nash's infection FINALLY cleared up, and he's back to his normal bit of driving me crazy around dinner time. But, he's recently decided he
doesn't want to poop outside. I kid you not. 11 years old a few weeks ago, and he poops an average of twice a day, of which at least one is inside.
It's diving me nuts.

I was hoping his hearing would come back a bit, but no go. I have been using the Zymox off and on if I see that his ears look a little yeasty. That stuff is
magic. Thanks for the recommendation!!! And so reasonable. I don't think we'll ever have to deal with that again because of the Zymox. I
never want to be without it. Seriously.

Nash had a low yesterday. I have no idea why, and so I am watching him closely. We decided not to do any running after church, I was tired and just wanted to
come hom. THANK GOD we did. When we got in (it was approx. 6 hours since his injection) he was actually shaky, and the...

Thanks for the info Jac. Actually, they had authorized me to increase his tramadol to 3 tablets a day, but they really hadn't seemed to help. It
doesn't have the anti-inflammatory properties of NSAID's, but that said, the NSAID's have so many negative points. What do we do?

I don't know about the throwing up. He did it two or 3 days in a row, sometime during the morning, early afternoon before I got home, and that was it.

What product is it for reflux/acid issues that the Vet's have told many of our gals they can use on their dogs? Is it Pepcid?

Anyway, he seems to be doing better, but they want to keep him on the antibiotics another week after this. I won't be able to take him in till next week
as our life is pretty hectic this week.....hubby in the hospital till Thusday for knee surgery, and me doing wedding coordinating on Thurs (rehearsal) and
Friday (wedding)....plus still working. Yikes too much going on....

The heat and humidity have got to affect animals. I don't know about anyone else here, but when the humidity gets really bad, I'm hopelessly crabby! It
makes sense that our dogs are feeling some negative effect, too, I guess.

Cindy, now I'm wondering, too, if barometric pressure hurts Nash's ears more than usual? There's probably no way you could find out except match
the pressure-days with Nash-days. Even then, there's not much you can do about the weather.

About Tramadol: do you remember that Denise was giving it to her dog, Schulz, when he was really sick and in a lot of pain? Denise called her vet to say that
Tramadol wasn't working but she found out that it can be tailored - taken in a larger dose or more frequently.

I've used Tramadol for my dogs but only for short times. One of my vets says it's perfectly okay to take it daily for arthritis but my other vet
disagrees. So I save it only for occasions when the...

I think I read once that the seizures are because of something that our bodies give off before them (like a gas/or electrical thing).

But, Dawn, you are right, most dogs that have problems with storms know WAY before the storm comes. I have a friend that has Meiniers (this is probably not
the spelling on this) Disease, and HE can tell when it's going to storm before it arrives. So, yes, I think you are correct.

When you said that about the weather it gave me an idea. We all know that dogs can sense barometric(sp) pressure better than us. Example a dog that runs and
hides even before we know it going to storm. So it go me thinking could this effect the ears. Just like when you go in a plane. Is this how they sense the
storm? Not an answer just wanted to share. Does anyone know anything about this?

Heh Barbara, thank you so much for asking.

He is doing good. I am planning on talking to the Vet by the end of the week. He's been on the antibiotics 4 weeks, (this is his 5th week).......and I
ordered another week worth that he'll start over the weekend. I had to wait on ordering the Zymox ($) since I had to order the antibiotics. But, I did
call around to see if anyone has it, and no one local does. My Vet doesn't carry it, but wanted to know what the active ingredients in it are, so I'll
send her the info. I told her that several folks on the board have used it and had fabulous results.

I still do have Nash on the NSAIDS, but he is less then 1/2 his dose. The tramadol just isn't taking care of his pain when he eats. I am sure it's
the inflammation issues that Tramadol doesn't cover.

I also have given him an antacid in the AM because that was the only time he threw up, and he hasn't thrown up since. I'll...
