Hi Everyone

Only to let you all know that Jenny passed this morning at 5am in her sleep very peacefully, up to a couple of days ago she was still in the same poor
condition but deteriorated a lot last 2 days with my MIL having to bring her to the loo etc.

She was a tiny wee thing (wee little red poodle) and of the loveliest disposition, I think she was nearly 10. My MIL has had lots of dogs but this is the one
that got under her skin a lot so she is awful upset this mornng but glad for Jenny of such a peaceful passing.

Thanks for your help.

So nobody is monitoring this dog with daily bloodtests to see what the bgs. are? Please, please Sharon, beg them to take her in to an emergency vet or
anywhere where they can check her out. She is suffering with all those issues, not to mention feeling like she's starving all the time, and she probably
is. Are they just waiting for her to die on her own? I'm sorry, but this seems like a bad situation and I'm so upset by it. I don't know this
baby, but I wish she were mine right now and at least she wouldn't be suffering like this. Can you talk to them again about getting her treated? I need
to check her weight and amount of insulin she is getting. Could you post that again, sorry.

What I think would help here is a BG curve. This way we can tell how Jenny is using food and insulin. I know you are feeding her high cal food, but it will not
do any good if her BG are to high. The body can use the food correct. This could be why she is hungry all the time.

Hi All

Well I spoke to MIL this morning and she Jenny continues to decline, she is also still peeing again the the house and poo'ing (has been on 2 injections I
think since last Sunday now and also changed antibiotics and stopped kaogel stuff).

MIL said she is eating and desperate to eat, is stiffing the floor constantly like she is so hungry and nothing satisfies her yet she is skin and bone, she is
eating the food the vet gave to build her up too, I just spoke to my BIL tonight and he said she has had a bad day and it is awful to watch.

It sounds like she looks like a diabetic dog that is sky high with no insulin doesn't it? Now pancreatic insufficiency sounds like this, dog looking like
starving etc, she is now on pancreatic ezymes for nearly a week to but to no avail. Her blood doesn't get taken (hubby did it last week and it was lowish),
might ask hubby to do some pee sticks for her and see what is happening, he did the blood test at...

Only quick as I am whizzing in and out, granma says she has improved an awful lot not peeing much in house and only a few poopy mistakes, vet has increased her
two two doses a day (down to 2 units), changed antibiotics to nuroclav (I asked granma to do this coz something I read about hypo with other one) and cut out
kaogel. But I saw her yesterday morning and she looked really frail and not well sitting on her little bed ahh. Vet also brought round tubes of some special
food that will build her up.

Thanks very much for caring.

PS Zeno turned out not be be start of pancreatitis thank goodness, we are away in a couple of days and I can never look forward to trips away as I worry so
about him, at the very start of pancreatitis the last time (which I thought he was getting) he got an antibiotic injection (on top of his daily nuroclav) I was
half tempted to ask the vet if she could give him this as extra protection for when we are away but I suppose that is daft -...

Oh Sharon, I think I might have missed you, as you mentioned going away.

For Zeno, if you're fearing pancreatitis, you know that you'll need to go bland, or cut his food and water for 24 hours to give the pancreas a rest. I
just went through something similar with Nash and I am pretty sure it's tied to his food. He started having a rumbly tummy and gas shortly after a new bag
of food, and then it progressed. So, I put him back on Hills (the Prescription food) ID for this last week. Now I seek a new food that seems to be easier on
his digestive tract, fun, fun.

I have to agree with the girls......I think Jenny needs to be on two shots a day. Too much high and lows and her symptoms are classic of that. If she has
pancreas issues, she also needs to be on something that is easier on the pancreas. I haven't had the chance to do a lot of research, but I intend on
calling Hill's today to ask what they have non-prescription that I can put Nash...
