I thought it would be nice to start a new thread specific to this topic, rather than have it buried in the Wiggins post.

So, hoping you all (current diabetic furmoms and past diabetic furmoms) share with some of our newer folks where you buy your diabetic supplies, and the costs,
and what you think of the products you are purchasing.

I'll jump on after dinner and add my 2 cents worth. But, wanted to get this rolling.

I am using the One Touch for Shasta and the new test strips because they take less blood. That said, we do have a prescription (for my son) for the test strips

Oh that is good to know that Consumers Ranked it high!! I find it very easy to use (not that I've tried others :) And frankly with that kind of a price,
it's well worth it.

When I said I get a bum strip, I'm not sure that is the issue, or if it's just me not drawing enough blood.

I figured if their insulin is great, they probably have their meters made by some top name also.

Walmart certainly takes care of their diabetic customers.

expensive

So, I kind of already said where I get mine, but just for the record.

I buy the Relion Novelin N at Walmart. Michigan it's $23 and change a vial
Syringes are 100 for $12 and change

I bought the Relion Ultima Meter (something like $9)....had it checked at the Vets and it's comparable to others as it's off about 30 points (shows
lower than what it is).
The test strips are $18.88 for 50 or $9 for 20.

Very reasonable. ALWAYS have your meter checked again labs at the Vets. Take your meter, when Vet draws blood, you test too. Then when you Vet gets her lab
values back, see what they say for the blood glucose, and compare to your meters, and then you'll know how to adjust your meter pointwise in the future.

OK for a meter...
One touch ultra gives away free meters if your a diabetic.....
Also my sister in law is a diabetic so she always supplied me with a large number of test strips...

As for insulin... WallMart has the Novelin Insulin ( by ReliOn) for $21.00 a bottle...
And the ReliOn syringes 31g,short... 100 for $13.00

Food :
I used Merrick cans for a very long time....
I would get those at a local pet supply store... They ordered it for me monthly....
I ordered 12 cases a month for Killian at $20.00 a case....

Then we went to ID..... and that I would pick up from my local vets office.....
