			<description><![CDATA[ Recently read some different articles on the benefits of coconut oil for humans and dogs.  So, my mom and I split a jar of it.  It actually reminds me of Crisco as far as consistency.  I've been giving Claire a 1/4 tsp once a day.  Hoping it helps with her dry skin, and sparse hair.....and helps prevent the sebaceous cysts issues on her tail.<br>

I never want to feel that helpless again.<br>I also hope that all members will also watch this video (that Carolyn was kind enough to find for us.)<br><br>Hopefully no one will ever need it... but then again I never thought I would need... ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ <p>Alert to all pet owners!&nbsp; Rattlesnake season is just beginning and we, on the West Coast, are just now seeing the new crop of baby rattlesnakes emerge.<br><br>My friend next door, just ran into one in the neighborhood while out walking with her newly adopted rescue, Chase- a 11 mo. old Chi-Mix.&nbsp; Chase suddenly jumped about 2 ft. in the air and she saw the snake fall to the ground and slither away.&nbsp; It got him on the neck, just to the side of his throat.&nbsp; My son was driving by just after the bite and found her frantically trying to get the dog home and she jumped in the car and they went to the Emergency vet clinic.<br><br>Chase was given anti-venom and is in so much pain.&nbsp; They said he's the second one today to get bit, but Chase is very small and this was a baby rattler which is apparently more dangerous.&nbsp; If he makes it through the night, they give him a pretty good chance of recovery and have a second dose of antivenom ready in case he gets worse... ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ I am new to the forums and have a 7 1/2 year old English Bulldog, Malone,&nbsp;with some problems that are causing us to worry.&nbsp; His health has been good up till now but we noticed a change in him 2-3 weeks ago.&nbsp; He began to lose weight, lost interest in eating, seems disoriented, and recently has begun to circle.&nbsp; But let me go back a bit first.&nbsp; A month ago, Malone developed a very dry nose and it almost looked like a huge scab.&nbsp; I put Neosporin on it several times a day until it started getting better, but he doesn't seem to have much of a sense of smell.&nbsp; So now comes the loss of appetite, weight loss, and weird behavior.&nbsp; He seems disoriented, unresponsive to commands, and seems to avoid touch.&nbsp; He is also circling like he doesn't know which direction to go in.&nbsp; <br><br>The problem for us is that I've been very sick and with medical bills and loss of work, our financial situation is not the best and I'm afraid I can't really afford... ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ My 9-month-old Boxer appeared to be starting her first heat cycle a few weeks ago.&nbsp; She is the first female in season I've had so wasn't sure what to expect, read a lot about it and was expecting bloody discharge to be the first sign.&nbsp; But she's had no discharge at all that I can detect.&nbsp; The first sign was her swollen vulva, and my intact male's increasing interest in sniffing her.&nbsp; He was never obsessive about it like I was expecting though, and never tried to mount her, and she never acted like she wanted to be mounted, never moved her hips or tail when touched around the hind end like I'd read receptive bitches will do.&nbsp; I also have a neutered male who showed no special interest in her.&nbsp; Now her vulva swelling has gone down, and I noticed her nipples are slightly larger than they were before but read that is normal after a first heat.<br><br>Has anyone experienced anything like this with a dog before?&nbsp; From what I read <a title="here"... ]]></description>

I am soooo sad.&nbsp; i have read all your posts about dogs adjusting very well but one of the problems I have is this crazy cat that sneaks up on Baxter and pounces on him, He hates it and always runs away in a panic. I am afraid this would really be a problem for him. I have tried to find a home for the cat because I am actually not very fond of him but nobody wants him because he has a tendency to pee outside the litter box. I know lovely. 			<description><![CDATA[ I may be (probably) over reacting.&nbsp; Emma has been sick for a week with runny nose and gagging.&nbsp; Horrible reverse sneezing.&nbsp; Has trouble breathing through her nose when lying dow.&nbsp; Been to vet twice this week.&nbsp; Vet put her on a stronger antihistamine yesterday and antibiotic.&nbsp; ( Atarax and Amoxil 500mg)&nbsp; She is treating it like allergies right now and said more tests if not better by Friday.&nbsp; The symptoms are just no better even with the antihistamine although it does knock her out for a while.&nbsp; The mucous is clear..no blood no fever.&nbsp; I am just so scared as a nasal tumor was mentioned(to be tested if no better).&nbsp; If I lost Emma I don't know waht I would do.&nbsp; She is only 7.&nbsp; Never any health problems.&nbsp; Vet mentioned a nasal flush and tests if no better.&nbsp;&nbsp; The mucous comes from both sides not like 1 side if obstructed with foreign body.&nbsp; Any way please think good thoughts for my Emma.&nbsp; She is... ]]></description>
